Cogeneration

Gas piston cogeneration plants, or CHP, are designed for combined production of electrical energy of alternating current frequency of 50Hz and thermal energy in the form of hot water or steam.

Cogeneration gives the consumer independence from power outages while the autonomously supplying heat. Unlike conventional power cogeneration units, cogeneration plants use generated heat for heating needs and hot water supply, which saves fuel and finance. Gas piston units also have been used as a backup source of electricity and heat.

In contrast to the separate use of electrical installations and of boilers rated efficiency of cogeneration plants is about 92%. The use of cogeneration units in the production of power and heat provides fuel savings of up to 40%.

This means that for the same amount of energy the customer will only pay 60% or for the same amount of fuel nearly 2 times more energy, will be received, part of which can can be sold to further reduce costs.

Depending on the power of the plant and method of its operation, the payback of those cogeneration plants is about 3-5 years when the term of operation of around 200 000 hours (about 30 years).

Trigeneration

In contrast to cogeneration, the disposed heat is not only used for hot water system and domestic heating, but also for the production of cold. For this an absorption chiller heated by hot water is included in the package.

The cost of this chiller is higher than of chilling machines with electric heating, but due to the use of free heat from the recycling of cold, production costs are much lower.
